Lotte Chemical were shortlisted for two of the prestigious awards at this year’s Science Industry Skills Awards for the UK, held in London on May 7th. We were shortlisted for the “Employer Of The Year” and Stephen Trillo our HR OD Director for “Outstanding Leadership In Skills”.
Being shortlisted is a great achievement as these awards cover the whole of the UK, but Lotte Chemical were shortlisted for two, even more of an achievement. It was a great evening and Stephen Trillo was the winner of the “Outstanding leadership In Skills award for his for his work as a member of the STEM boards for Middlesbrough and Redcar colleges who work together to help drive the STEM agenda and requirements across the industry sector, as well as carrying out these responsibilities he is also an Apprentice Ambassador for the North East. Stephen is the chair of both the Science Industry Partnership (SIP) Quality group and SIP North East Skills Council and is a SIP board member and part of the Trailblazer group who are setting the new apprentice standards for our industry.
Joanna Woolf, Cogent Skills’ CEO, said: “We wish everyone who took part in the Awards continued success in their careers and in acting as such fantastic role models for the science industries.”
The two awards were:-
- Finalist – SISA Employer of the Year 2015
- Winner – SISA Outstanding Leadership In Skills 2015
