LCUK hosted St Bernadette’s Primary School in Nunthorpe as part of the highly successful Children Challenging Industry initiative.
The programme is aimed at teachers and children in primary schools, and at science-based manufacturing companies to raise both the profile of STEM (Science, Technology Engineering & Maths) subjects and to educate children about the careers that are available within the manufacturing sector. The visits are designed to tackle real problems that are encountered within science-based industries, reflecting more closely the way science is carried out in ‘real life’. This approach improves children’s motivation and understanding.
The visit to LCUK included an insight into what our product goes in to, some hands on lab experiments and a look around the plant.
